Sportsman's Warehouse Sucks

They really are the worst.

A few weeks back, we needed Large Pistol Primers. We checked with the local retailers and they were all out. Thus, you figure you hit the big box. I mean, everybody uses Large Pistol Primers. Shit, most guys who load just do it to cut down on .45 cost. Well, Sportsman's Warehouse didn't have shit. We took it as a token that it was not meant to be.

Fast forward a month. The Old Man and I went down there to pick up an emergency box of .45 round nose. They didn't have it, of course. I also noticed the primer section was even more eviscerated than when we'd last been there. Do you have a buyer? Do you stock?

Fuck you anyway. You wasted shitloads of my time and you are useless.

When is Cabela's opening?

Comments:
Dude

Sportsman's Warehouse in Chattanooga rocks.

Admitted, its not as great as Cabela's, but its loads better than Bass (at least for the shooter) and light years better than anything here in the DC area.

Got some dies and lots of reloading supplies there on Saturday as well as game calls.

And large primers ta boot!

Ain't the store's fault genius. Supplies are getting harder to come by as we speak and with all the people that shop at Sportsmans it only makes sense that they can't keep it on the shelf. You end up having to go to Cabela's and spend more cause the less expensive stuff at Sportsman's sold out first. Ya snooze, ya lose.

It seems that Sportsman's in Salem Oregon is slowly loosing it's customer service focus as well. They are consistantly closing the store doors 5 to 10 minutes early. When I get off work and spend 20 minutes to get across town to find the doors locked, it's annoying. I've begun to order from Cabela's...or take a day to drive to the Cabela's in Lacey, WA to get what I need. Often I can call ahead and they will have it picked for me. Now that's customer service!!

I went to sportsman's in tucson AZ. to look for a rifle scope, when I got to the scope counter there were only two yung kids behind the counter.Niether one knew anything about any scopes, then I asked can you tell me anything about this one,NO I just sell them. and worse yet we could not find anyone that could help us.You are right, they realy SUCK.

Billings Montana here. They haven't done much better by me either. I thought I had found some large pistol primers, so I bought a thousand of them. Well I opened the sack the next morning and to my surprise I had bought large pistol magnum primers. Oops my bad. Don't have a use for magnum primers. I thought I would just take them back and swap them for standard primers. I had not even opened the brick of primers. Well the young kid behind the counter said "no deal, them are ammo and you can't exchange them." I looked at him and informed him, "that's ok. I can sell them to my reloading friends, but that's not going to bring me back in your store again." He didn't care and I don't either.

We have Big Bear, Scheels, two Shiptons, two Walmarts, and lots of smaller sporting goods store. I don't need Sportsman Warehouse any more than they need me. Good by Sportsman and hello to Cabella's next spring.

Sportsman's Warehouse in Oregon Lets the merchandise sit in the back room. I recently worked for them. I couldn't help my customers without running into the backroom full of merchandise in addition to 400 cases not yet even opened. I've never worked for a company that cares so little about the customer. At the Decemember monthly meeting my department manager said, "Be nice to the customer", I have in writting!!! I didn't fit it in; I worked on the floor with the customer not upstairs on the computer. I sure hope the new owners turn this company around.

Is sportsman's warehouse closing their Billings,Mt. store?

The Sportman's Warehouse in Salem, OR is terrible. The customer service is ridiculous and I'm often overlooked because I'm a woman. (The sales employee will see me and then proceed to help a man who came up to the counter AFTER me!! Grrr!) My husband absolutely loathes having to go there. We'd rather wait for it to come from Cabelas.

On that note, the Cabelas in Buda, TX is the best! Friendly, knowledgeable employees, and clean, stocked shelves!

I hear there's talk of a Cabela's coming to Oregon just south of Albany.....please do!!

Don't get too excited about Cabela's coming to town. I live in Utah and have dealt with Sportsmans Warehouse for years. I was excited a couple of years ago when Cabela's announced they were coming to town. I thought it was a dream come true.....too bad it was just a dream though. They have a cool store, but have to raise their prices to pay for it. They also are not immune to hiring idiots to work behind the gun counter. I've encountered plenty of them, and I am pretty patient. At first the community embraced them, but now that the new-ness has worn off, most people are back to shopping at Sportsmans. Rumor has it they are in the middle of a buyout, but hopefully when they get that finalized, the shelves will be stocked again. I actually saw a lady buying 20 bricks of .22 shells at one time from Sportsmans! No wonder the shelves are bare when people are paranoid of President Obama. How do you order for that? The average customer doesn't realize what's going on.

People have to stop and think!! Since Obama was elected President everyone around has been going to stores and purchasing guns, powder and ammo like crazy. Everyone around the Pocatello,Idaho area are running low or out of alot of items people want. Everyone is afraid of Obama putting a huge tax increase on these items. Some of the manufactures can't even get the stuff they need to make alot of their products because of the economy. SO DON'T blame the companies that sale the merchandie. YOU IDIOTS!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't agree more!! I ordered 3 boxes of .38's. Said 3 months to deliver. It took 9 months! Received a pair of biker boots for Christmas and they didn't fit. I drove 100 miles to their so called warehouse because they said I could exchange them. Truth was, they wanted me to pay for another pair and then wait for a refund on the first pair via credit card. Clerk told me it was two different funds. (internet vs warehouse) I told them I needed a large cart to bring in the tree stand from my truck I also received as a gift and that I would be returning that as well. THEN the clerk decided they would exchange my boots but as I turned to leave the store the clerk said, and I quote, "Don't ever come back here because we won't do this for you ever again"! No problem dude, I will never go back and 75% of a stores' advertising is word of mouth, both good and bad. I now drive 100 miles south to Cabela's where the customer is still first.
